This is the marinade paste for Spanish wings. EVOO, spices, a little garlic...mmmm!
Fried garbonzos. These were crispy on the outside, but soft inside. I thought they were gonna be crunchier, but Laurie said to bake them for about 40 minutes (instead of frying) to get them crunchy, so I'll try that next time.
Lemon-garlic shrimp for Shrimp and Grits. These are still the ones that Jack and Al caught in the river a few months ago. I didn't think it would be a big deal to shell and devein them, but, boy, was I WRONG!
The finished Shrimp and Grits product. I was trying to duplicate what I get at Jazz'd in Savannah, and it wasn't a bad first effort.
The lovely ladies...
The good-sport guys! Shhh, don't tell 'em their picture's out here in cyber land!
Annie's gorgeous table! Roses, bow ties, picture place cards...so much fun! The "green" in the cocktail glasses is her amazing broccoli soup (OH. MY. GOSH!) The rest of the incredible menu included:
*Spicy sauteed shrimp

*Roasted cumin sweet potatoes
*Grilled stuffed portobellos
*Sauteed spinach with garlic, honey and dates
*French bread with goat cheese, zucchini and roasted red pepper
*Pork and hominy stew
*Artichoke rice cakes with manchego cheese
*Poached pears
*Warm lemon custard
Doesn't that make your mouth water?! And all those bottles of wine? Yeah. They were good, too!
